SAVANNAH, Ga. – Vice President Kamala Harris continued her Fight for Reproductive Freedoms Tour with a stop in Savannah on Tuesday, where she discussed the impacts of abortion bans across the country. Criticizing Georgia’s LIFE Act, also known as the state’s heartbeat bill, Harris called it and similar laws in other states extreme. One of her main concerns is that these laws force women to leave their home state to seek reproductive care. She also highlighted Georgia’s high maternal mortality rate and expressed the need for more protection for women seeking care. Harris affirmed that President Joe Biden would veto any attempts by Congress to pass a national abortion ban. The Vice President’s visit to Georgia marks her 11th trip to the state since taking office. She urged supporters to stay engaged and use their voices to advocate for reproductive rights.
