The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) welcomed the decision made by the Allahabad High Court on the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri lawsuit, stating that it will expedite court proceedings. The VHP’s statement came after the court rejected a plea challenging the suit filed by five Hindu women seeking permission for regular worship of Shringar Gauri and other deities in the Varanasi’s Gyanvapi mosque compound. The mosque management committee’s revision petition was dismissed by Justice J J Munir. The VHP’s national working president, Alok Kumar, expressed his contentment with the court’s decision and expressed his hope that the lawsuit would proceed to a final judgement.
