Some Verizon customers may be eligible to receive a financial claim as part of a $100 million class-action lawsuit settlement by the company. Eligible customers include current and former account holders in the U.S. who received postpaid wireless or data services from Verizon and paid an administrative charge between January 1, 2016, and November 8, 2023. The lawsuit alleges that Verizon was misleading in advertising the price of its post-paid wireless service plans and implemented, charged, and increased the administrative charge in a deceptive or unfair manner. Verizon has agreed to the settlement without admitting any wrongdoing but has agreed to include revised disclosures about its administrative charge in its customer agreement. Customers eligible to file a claim must do so by April 15 in order to receive a settlement payment. Claims can be filed online or by mail. The settlement administrator will review all claims and determine eligibility. The lawsuit against Verizon was filed in the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey.
