Hindu Side Demands Evidence Room & Gyanvapi Reservations Amidst ASI Survey Objections: Varanasi Court Hearing Today

In a significant development in the Gyanvapi case, the Hindu side has put forward demands ahead of today’s hearing at the Varanasi District Court. According to reports, they have requested the establishment of an evidence room to preserve the findings from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey. Additionally, they have sought the reservation of the Gyanvapi mosque premises.

The Hindu side’s demands come as a response to objections raised by the Muslim side regarding the ASI survey. These objections revolve around the use of machines and equipment during the survey process. While tensions between the two sides persist, the court will now consider these new requests during the hearing.

Representing the Hindu side, advocate Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi highlighted the main focuses of today’s hearing. He emphasized the importance of preserving the collected evidence by establishing an evidence room. This request aims to maintain the integrity and transparency of the ASI survey. Chaturvedi also highlighted the Hindu side’s desire to secure the premises of the Gyanvapi mosque.

Chaturvedi expressed concerns over the current state of the premises, noting that it is filled with debris, which is impeding the progress of the survey. Initially, the Muslim side had agreed to remove the debris, but they are now hindering its immediate removal. These multiple points of contention will be addressed and deliberated in the district court today.

Furthermore, Chaturvedi stated that the Hindu side does not believe that the survey can be concluded within the designated four-week timeframe. As a result, they are urging the court to provide a clear verdict to resolve these ongoing issues once and for all.

Today’s hearing is pivotal in determining the course of action for the Gyanvapi case. With both sides presenting their arguments and concerns, it is anticipated that the court will weigh the evidence and perspectives carefully to ensure a fair and just resolution.

The Gyanvapi case holds immense historical and religious significance. The site in question is considered sacred by both Hindus and Muslims. Given the sensitivity of the matter, it is crucial for the court to maintain transparency, respect religious sentiments, and uphold the principles of justice throughout the proceedings.

As the Varanasi District Court hears the petitions from the Hindu side today, all eyes are on the outcomes and decisions that will shape the future of the Gyanvapi mosque premises.
