The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Google have announced a new collaboration focused on research and innovation in the field of artificial intelligence. The partnership aims to explore how AI can be utilized to moderate problematic online content, such as hate speech, data protection risks associated with general-purpose AI models, and patterns of cyberattacks on large language models (LLMs).
Under the initiative, seven projects will be led by TUM professors, with support from Google experts. The collaboration will involve the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and the creation of seven new positions for doctoral students to further advance research in these areas.
This strategic partnership between TUM and Google underscores the importance of academic-industry cooperation in addressing complex challenges in AI and online content moderation. By combining expertise from both institutions, the collaboration aims to drive meaningful progress in areas critical to the digital landscape.
