The USF All-Girl cheer team has made history once again by securing two national championships at the recent Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) College Nationals in Orlando. They won the Division I-A Game Day competition and the Division I-A Traditional competition, becoming the first-ever Division I program to win national titles in both categories in the same year. This success marks the fifth and sixth UCA national championships earned by the USF cheer programs in the past four years. Head coach Sandy Clarke expressed her excitement and described the achievement as giving me chills and still feeling surreal. The team credits their success to their commitment to excellence and unity, emphasizing the importance of giving their all and trusting in the collective effort of the team. They also attribute their strong bond to shared experiences and described their team as a sisterhood. The team’s synchronization and teamwork played a vital role in their success, and they strive for perfect harmony in their routines. USF Coed Cheer returned to national competition in 2016 after a hiatus and has steadily climbed up the leaderboard, establishing themselves as a dominant program. Their outstanding performance at the UCA College Nationals showcases their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.
