US Announces $400 Million Security Aid to Ukraine Amid Tensions: Russian Ambassador Criticizes Move
The United States government has recently announced a significant security assistance package worth $400 million for Ukraine, provoking a strong response from Russia. The assistance package, which includes air defense and anti-tank missiles, aims to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities in the ongoing conflict with Russia-backed separatists in the eastern part of the country.
Anatoly Antonov, Russia’s ambassador to the US, expressed his disapproval of the decision, calling it beyond morality and common sense. The Russian ambassador, however, accused the US ruling class of supporting terrorist plans of the Kyiv criminals, referring to a recent drone strike on the Crimean Bridge that resulted in casualties. Antonov warned that the influx of missiles and munitions, funded by American taxpayers, would destroy cities, leave fields contaminated with unexploded ammunition, and cause severe injuries.
