The US Coast Guard has released a statement predicting that the oxygen supply on board the missing Titan submersible has now run out. The search effort is continuing to locate the missing vessel, which lost communication with tour operators on Sunday 18 June. On board are five passengers, including British billionaire Hamish Harding and French maritime expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet. Despite the grim predictions, officials have emphasized that the mission is still very much a search and rescue operation. An OceanGate co-founder has also stated that the time window for survival may be longer than some anticipate. However, as yet, rescuers have not located the Titan submersible.
