The United States Coast Guard has revealed that it is unclear what the strange noises detected near the wreckage of the Titanic actually were. As the search for the missing Titanic submersible continues, the Coast Guard admits that they cannot confirm what the sounds were, stating that they need to have hope. The search has been expanded making the area more than twice the size of the US state of Connecticut. The Coast Guard projects that time is running out, with the Titan’s oxygen supply set to run out soon. The five men on board, including a British billionaire, a Pakistani businessman and French submersible pilot, went missing on Sunday as it descended towards wreckage of the Titanic. The search is continuing with remote search devices with extra capabilities being brought in on Thursday, and a French submersible robot that can dive to 6,000 metres may also arrive. Chris Parry, a former Royal Navy Commander, is sceptical of reports of banging underwater, calling the story pretty spurious.
