Unlicensed Beautician Involved in Fatal Breast Enhancement Procedure Evades Authorities
In a tragic incident, an unlicensed beautician who performed a breast enhancement procedure on a 29-year-old housewife has managed to elude the authorities. The procedure, carried out in July, ultimately led to the woman’s untimely demise. The government is now urging the public for any information regarding the whereabouts of the beautician, who remains missing.
The victim, Ms Tan Wei Shan, underwent the breast enhancement procedure on July 29. However, upon returning home, she experienced dizziness and an overall feeling of unwellness. Notably, she also complained of pain and swelling in her chest. Following these distressing symptoms, Ms Tan was urgently taken to a private hospital on July 30. Sadly, despite medical efforts, she passed away on August 2.
The Johor State Health Department’s private medical practice control section promptly launched an investigation into the incident after Ms Tan’s demise. Furthermore, they meticulously searched for the missing beautician, who was alleged to have carried out the procedure at a double-storey house in Taman Mutiara Rini, Skudai. Regrettably, their extensive efforts were in vain, as the beautician had disappeared without a trace. Her contact number and social media accounts were also found to be shut down, adding to the intrigue surrounding her disappearance.
Expressing concern over this distressing situation, Ling Tian Soon, the chairman of the Johor State Health and Unity Committee, has granted the beautician a one-week window to come forward and assist with the department’s investigation. Mr. Ling has also called upon anyone with information about her whereabouts to contribute to the ongoing investigation. However, if the beautician continues to evade authorities, a high-level meeting will be convened with the police to facilitate a joint effort in tracking her down.
The investigations have revealed several unsettling facts. The beautician is confirmed to have been unlicensed, further raising concerns about her qualifications and experience in performing such delicate procedures. Additionally, it has come to light that the house where the treatments were provided was merely a rented property.
According to the victim’s husband, Mr. Wong, Ms Tan had initially sought a facelift from the beautician, whom she got acquainted with through a mutual friend. Tragically, the beautician convinced her to undergo a breast enhancement procedure as well, a decision that ultimately led to disastrous consequences.
During the initial post-mortem examination, it was discovered that Ms Tan had developed a bacterial infection, shedding light on a potential cause of her deterioration and ultimate demise.
The toll of this incident is immense, leaving family and friends devastated by the loss of a beloved individual. It is crucial to recognize the dangers associated with unlicensed practitioners and the potential risks involved in undergoing medical procedures without the guidance of qualified professionals.
