University of Rhode Island Reveals Nonconference Basketball Schedule
The University of Rhode Island (URI) has recently unveiled an exciting nonconference basketball schedule that is sure to captivate fans and players alike. With matchups against formidable opponents like Northwestern, the College of Charleston, Providence, and Brown, the Rams are gearing up for a thrilling season on the court.
Coach Archie Miller will lead the team into his second year at the helm, and they will kick off their campaign with three consecutive home games at the Ryan Center. Central Connecticut State, Fairfield, and Wagner will all be welcomed by the Rams in early November.
URI’s nonconference slate features a total of 13 games, including eight regular-season home games, three neutral-site contests, and two true road games. The schedule includes clashes with three teams that participated in the NCAA tournament last season, with a potential fourth looming depending on the outcome of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun in November. The Rams will face off against Big 10 powerhouse Northwestern, followed by either the SEC’s Mississippi State or the PAC-12’s Washington State.
Highlighted by three Quad 1 games and a pair of Quad 2 contests, URI’s preseason schedule promises to challenge the team and prepare them for Atlantic 10 play. In the conference, the Rams will visit four of the top five teams from last season’s league standings, including Dayton, VCU, Fordham, and George Mason.
Last season, URI finished with a record of 9-22 (5-13 in conference play) in Coach Miller’s first year in Kingston. As part of their preparations, the Rams will also host Assumption in an exhibition game on November 1.
While specific game times and dates for the Atlantic 10 conference schedule are yet to be announced, fans can eagerly anticipate a competitive season ahead. The Rams are determined to make strides under Coach Miller’s guidance, and their nonconference schedule sets the stage for an exciting journey on the hardwood.
