Universities Urged to Prioritize People-centric Research and Encourage Scientific Temper by CM Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has emphasized the importance of universities in developing a scientific temperament and conducting people-centred research. He stated that universities should not be involved in dividing society. Siddaramaiah spoke to a delegation of vice-chancellors from numerous universities and expressed his concerns over universities deviating from their objectives. He urged them to avoid actions which divide society and instead focus on social values and social justice. Stressing the influential role of universities in shaping the future of the country, Siddaramaiah highlighted that straying from their true objectives could have detrimental consequences for both students and the nation. The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening higher education based on scientific principles, and said that any deviations from this path would not be tolerated.
