Union Ministers to Stay in Odisha Until Passengers Reach Home Safely

Three Union Ministers, including Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, will be camping in Odisha until all passengers involved in the Balasore train accident are safely sent home, according to Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Bishweswar Tudu. The Balasore train accident resulted in two passenger trains and a goods carriage colliding and has claimed the lives of at least 275 people with over 1,000 more sustaining injuries. The cause of the accident is under investigation, and the rescue operations are complete while restoration work is underway. The injured have been treated, and arrangements have been made to accommodate 160 dead bodies. The relatives of the deceased will be given Rs. 10 lakh, while those with serious and minor injuries will receive Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 50,000, respectively.
