Union Minister’s Escort Vehicle Overturns in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur
An unfortunate incident occurred in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur, where an escort vehicle belonging to Union Minister Som Parkash overturned near Fatehpur village. The incident took place while the convoy was en route to Kothi village to assess the flood-affected areas in Chabbewal.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported, except for minor harm to Punjab Home Guard Jawan Harmesh Kumar’s left arm, who was traveling in the escort vehicle at the time of the accident.
With the help of a JCB machine, the car was safely brought back onto the road. Despite the mishap, Union Minister Som Parkash proceeded to visit the flood-affected areas as planned. He made several stops in villages such as Fatehpur, Kothi, Lalwan, and Hulluwal to assess the extent of the damage caused by the floods.
Expressing concern for the affected regions, Parkash informed that the central government has already released Rs 218 crore as compensation for the losses incurred due to the floods in Punjab.
