Union Minister of Steel and Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, unveiled the new logo of the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) at an event in New Delhi. The logo signifies NMDC’s commitment to sustainable and responsible mining, as well as its global aspirations.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Nagendra Nath Sinha, Secretary of the Ministry of Steel, Amitava Mukherjee, CMD of NMDC, and other officials from the Ministry of Steel and NMDC. Minister Scindia commended Team NMDC on their dynamic new logo, highlighting that it symbolizes the organization’s values and goals.
Reflecting on NMDC’s journey, the Minister emphasized that the previous logo represented India’s growth over the past 75 years, focusing on reducing dependence and achieving self-reliance. The new logo, however, represents NMDC’s readiness to engage in mining on a global scale within a sustainable and green environment.
The logo communicates NMDC’s responsibilities to mine in harmony with nature and people, ensure mineral security, establish mineral accountability, and promote self-reliance in the sector. The Minister also acknowledged India’s transformation from a developing nation to a developed one, attributing this success to the monumental efforts of the Prime Minister.
Speaking about NMDC’s achievements, the Minister highlighted that the company achieved record-breaking production until July 2023, surpassing 40 million tons of annual production last year.
During the event, the CMD of NMDC spoke about how the new logo embodies NMDC’s vision and represents NMDC 2.0.
Overall, NMDC’s new logo showcases its dedication to responsible and sustainable mining practices while signaling its ambitions to become a global player in the sector. The company’s achievements demonstrate its commitment to driving growth and contributing to India’s path towards development.
