Unknown individuals set fire to the house of Union Minister R K Ranjan at Kongba Nandeibam Leikai in Manipur. The authorities reported that Maharajkumar Ghanashyam Singh Road, where the minister’s residence is located, has been cordoned off due to safety reasons. They have also heightened security in the area, and Imphal West and Imphal East districts are under curfew until 1 pm, except in some risky parts of the state capital. Residents of the area extinguished the fire late Thursday night, but a portion of the house and vehicles were still damaged. The Union Minister of State for Education was not in his home during the incident. Moreover, the Manipur government extended the internet ban until June 20, which was initially imposed on May 3 due to the violence in Chura Chandpur district.
