New Delhi, June 28 – The Union Health Ministry has introduced a dashboard to streamline monitoring compliance with Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS), enhancing the quality of healthcare services nationwide. The dashboard will enable swift oversight at national, state, and district health facilities, ensuring prompt action when necessary.
In a bid to bolster the ease of doing business in India, the ministry also launched a virtual National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) assessment for Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAM) and unveiled a spot food license initiative for food vendors. These initiatives aim to elevate healthcare standards and operational efficiency.
Key figures in the health sector, including Union ministers Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav and Anupriya Singh Patel, introduced the initiatives, emphasizing the government’s commitment to accessible healthcare for all. The spot food license initiative, facilitated through the Food Safety and Compliance System (FoSCoS), revolutionizes the licensing process for food vendors, promoting a user-friendly experience.
The virtual NQAS assessment and dashboard, along with the streamlined licensing for food vendors, mark significant milestones in advancing healthcare quality and business facilitation. These efforts align with the government’s robust healthcare system strengthening agenda, aimed at equipping medical facilities with skilled personnel and cutting-edge infrastructure.
Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, more than 1,70,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are actively serving communities, providing vital healthcare services. The introduction of virtual certification for AAM Sub-centres reflects a progressive approach to quality assurance in public health facilities, ensuring comprehensive and accessible healthcare for citizens.
Efforts like the NQAS for Integrated Public Health Laboratories (IPHLs) underscore the government’s commitment to robust healthcare services, emphasizing precise, consistent, and safe laboratory testing processes. By implementing stringent quality standards, public health facilities can offer reliable diagnostic services, reducing the need for costly private alternatives.
The innovative initiatives introduced by the Health Ministry signify a concerted effort to elevate healthcare standards and promote operational efficiency. Through collaborative strategies and modern technologies, the ministry strives to enhance the overall healthcare landscape, underscoring the importance of accessible, high-quality medical services for all citizens.
