Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has expressed his intention to adopt the thriving healthcare model of Uttar Pradesh (UP) throughout the entire nation. This plan comes after the success of UP’s Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Mela, which has provided health facilities and services to over 12 crore patients in the state.
The concept of public health fairs implemented by the Yogi Adityanath government in UP has received warm appreciation from the attendees, especially the patients who have benefited from the services provided. In light of this success, the central government plans to organize Ayushman fairs nationwide, following the same model and approach that has proven effective in UP.
The Ayushman fairs aim to provide prompt medical attention to attendees, with critical patients being referred to larger hospitals for specialized care. These fairs will offer a wide range of health facilities, including check-ups, distribution of golden cards, and access to various health schemes. By adopting UP’s healthcare model, the central government aims to ensure that health facilities and services reach the people at the grassroots level.
Since February 2020, a total of 120,173,552 patients have benefited from the Arogya Mela in UP. Out of these, 222,051 serious patients have been referred to higher centers for specialized care. Additionally, 1,328,155 golden cards have been issued, providing patients access to various health schemes.
During the 106th Chief Minister’s Health Fair held on July 23, 148,152 patients underwent health check-ups in all 75 districts of the state. The fair has proven highly beneficial for the general public, with 60,623 men, 61,747 women, and 25,782 children receiving beneficial services. Furthermore, 1,052 patients with serious diseases were sent to higher hospitals for advanced treatment, and 5,535 golden cards were distributed during the event.
The central government’s decision to adopt UP’s healthcare model showcases its commitment to providing accessible and quality healthcare services to all citizens. By organizing Ayushman fairs nationwide, the government aims to bridge the healthcare gap and ensure that even the most marginalized sections of society receive the care they deserve.
With this nationwide adoption of UP’s healthcare model, the central government is taking a significant step towards improving the healthcare sector and prioritizing the well-being of its citizens.
