Unidentified bodies transferred to mortuaries following deadly train accident in India

As many as 160 unidentified dead bodies have been shifted to mortuaries in Bhubaneswar, India, after a devastating train accident in the country. The bodies will be preserved at the mortuaries to facilitate smooth identification by family members of the deceased, said Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh. Efforts will be made to identify the dead with the help of DNA samples from their families. The mishap claimed the lives of nearly 288 people, with the number expected to rise. Nearly 900 people were injured in what is being called the worst train accident in the past decade in India.
