Other questions include why banging noises were heard and what caused the delay in the rescue attempt. Safety concerns were previously raised about the submersible by a former employee of the company, and it did not have an emergency system in place, which leaves many wondering why the passengers went in the first place.
According to the aunt of one of the passengers, Suleman Dawood, the 19-year-old university student was just there for a Father’s Day bonding experience and had a sense that it was not okay. He went along with the adventure because he wanted to bond with his father.
While tributes have been paid to those onboard, it’s clear that there are still many questions that need to be answered. The US Coast Guard is continuing to investigate, but until more information is uncovered, these questions will remain unanswered.
