The U.K. Competition and Markets Authority has initiated an investigation into Qualcomm’s proposed acquisition of Israel-based automotive chip maker Autotalks. The regulator is evaluating whether the deal could potentially reduce competition in the U.K. markets for various goods and services. A decision on this matter is expected by April 25. Qualcomm had previously announced the purchase of Autotalks in May 2023 as part of its strategy to enhance its lineup of Snapdragon chips for automobile manufacturers. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
