UConn Linebacker Mitchell Shines, Receives Multiple Award Nominations
Mitchell, the star linebacker of the UConn Huskies football team, has made waves in the NCAA with his exceptional performance on the field. In the 2022 season, Mitchell led the Huskies with an impressive 140 tackles, including 50 solo tackles. His accomplishments in the sport earned him a place in both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. Bednarik was also a pivotal member of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 1960 NFL championship team. The Bednarik Award has been awarded since 1994 to the most outstanding defensive player in college football.
