Two individuals were stabbed in New Delhi’s Khadda Colony area due to disputes over the traditional game Gilli-Danda. Three perpetrators, including a minor, have been arrested by the local police. The arrested culprits, Anas and Saqib, admitted to attacking the victims during a fight over the game on June 1. The clash was settled at the time, but the accused subsequently attacked the victims on June 13. CCTV footage helped the police apprehend the attackers.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 pm, and both victims, a 16-year-old student named Rishu Tiwari and a 19-year-old college student named Anand Mathur, suffered injuries. Two nineteen-year-old perpetrators, Anas Fakruddin and Saqib Alimuddin, were arrested based on the CCTV footage, while the third assailant was a minor.
According to the police, Saqib and Rishu had a prior altercation on June 1, which spurred the ongoing conflict. Following 12 days of tension building up, the two parties attacked each other, and Anand was injured while attempting to intervene.
The police were successful in investigating the stabbing incident with the help of CCTV footage and promptly arrested the attackers. The culprits were charged with aggravated assault and await their trial.
