Two members of a family were injured in a fire that was caused by a gas leakage in an apartment in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Saturday, according to an official from the fire brigade. Roshni Mangelal Bishnoi (38) suffered from 60 to 70 per cent of her body surface area burned and her brother, Hanuman (28), received 10 per cent of his body burned when he attempted to save Roshni from the flames.
The neighbors of the residence managed to extinguish the fire and rushed both of them to the hospital.
The fire was said to have originated from a gas leak in an apartment on the second floor of a residential structure in Sagarli area of Dombivili town at around 12 pm. Thankfully, swift and proper precautionary measures were observed, limiting the damage done by the fire.
