Former President Donald Trump is set to air an explosive interview with Tucker Carlson, coinciding with the first GOP debate taking place in Milwaukee. Trump announced on Truth Social that the interview would air at 9 pm and teased that sparks will fly. This move is seen as an attempt by Trump to steal the limelight and overshadow his 2024 competitors. While eight other candidates will be participating in the debate, Trump has refused to share the stage with candidates he considers inferior to himself.

In addition to the interview, Trump has also planned to surrender to Georgia authorities on Thursday as part of the latest indictment against him. By timing his surrender with the debate fallout, Trump is likely to divert attention away from the other candidates. Tucker Carlson confirmed the interview on his social media account and revealed that Trump approached him to do the interview.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) recently announced the candidates who made it to the debate stage. Qualifiers include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchin, and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum. However, there is uncertainty surrounding Burgum’s participation due to an injury he sustained during a basketball game.

Trump took to social media to declare that his interview with Tucker Carlson would provide an opportunity to show how the Presidential Election of 2020 was rigged and stolen. He called anyone who doesn’t believe him fools and cowards and emphasized the need to address the alleged fraud, irregularities, and cheating to prevent it from happening again.

Notably, Trump decided to skip the GOP primary debate and opted for the interview with Tucker Carlson instead. Trump’s surrogates, including Kari Lake and Marjorie Taylor Greene, have rallied behind him, asserting his lead in the polls and stating that the primary race is already over.

Without Trump’s presence on the debate stage, the spotlight will likely fall on the top two contenders, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

This news has received significant attention, especially considering the timing of Trump’s interview and his planned surrender to Georgia authorities. It remains to be seen how these events will impact the GOP debate and the overall political landscape.
