Shocking detail revealed in horror two-vehicle crash
A car crash in Sydney’s south-west has left a woman and three children badly injured, with police alleging that the driver of one of the vehicles involved was traveling at a high speed of 140km/h at the time of the collision. The incident occurred at the intersection of Milperra Road and Cooraban Road in Milperra early on Saturday morning, resulting in a total of seven people being taken to the hospital. The children, aged 10, 14, and 15, along with a woman in her 40s, were trapped in their SUV and had to be extricated by Fire Rescue NSW.
According to police, the driver of the sedan, an 18-year-old man, had been spotted traveling at 140km/h in a signposted 70km/h zone just before the incident. Officers activated lights and sirens just as the sedan collided with a 4WD, stated the police in a press release. The 18-year-old driver was subsequently taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard for mandatory testing, while his two passengers sustained minor injuries and were also transported to the same hospital.
Although the injuries sustained by the woman and children are considered serious, authorities have indicated that they are not life-threatening. Photos from the scene reveal a chaotic aftermath, with debris from the crash scattered among personal items such as clothing and other miscellaneous items. Shards of glass, metal, and a green p-plate were also visible amidst the wreckage.
In response to the incident, police have established a crime scene and investigations are currently ongoing.
