The Chief Minister of Tripura held a state-level meeting on Thursday to discuss the development of tribal areas in the state. The meeting focused on the progress of centrally assisted projects, as well as future action plans and new initiatives.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for transparency and encouraged departments to play a strong role in delivering benefits to tribal-dominated areas. He also urged officials to monitor progress on the ground and resolve any problems through discussion.
Secretary of the Rural Development Department reported on various projects, including the construction of over 2 lakh houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and the creation of over 75 lakh mandates under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. The department also reported on Swachh Bharat Mission Urban, with 20 urban bodies in the state recognized as ‘ODF’.
The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department provided information on organic farming and the distribution of soil health cards, while the Education Department discussed initiatives in schools under PM POSHAN.
Overall, the meeting stressed the state government’s dedication to transparency and bringing development to tribal areas through diverse projects. The meeting was attended by various officials, including the Union Minister of State for Social Justice.
