No Sector Should Lag in Country’s March to Progress: TN Governor RN Ravi at 15th National Tribal Youth Exchange Programme

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], November 22 – Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi emphasized the importance of inclusive development and progress, stating that no sector should be left behind. He made these remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the 15th National Tribal Youth Exchange Programme organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) in Chennai on Wednesday.

Governor Ravi highlighted the nation’s rapid advancements in various fields and stressed the need for all sectors to keep pace with this progress. He stated, Today, when India is making remarkable strides in different spheres and gaining recognition worldwide, with many countries seeking our solutions for global problems, it is crucial that no sector lags or falls behind in our journey towards development.

He further mentioned that the responsibility of driving progress lies not only with the government but also with society, especially the youth. With approximately 106 million tribal individuals in the country, Governor Ravi emphasized the significance of ensuring their development. He stated, If such a large number of people lag behind in development, our country can never truly move forward on the path to progress.

Governor Ravi drew attention to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ which means the world is a family. He likened India to a big family, asserting that if any member of the family is weak, backward, or ill, their problems become the problems of the entire family. He stressed that it is crucial to prioritize addressing the issues faced by tribals and urged all stakeholders in the country’s development to extend a helping hand, treating them like family members and ensuring their inclusion in the quest for holistic progress.

Highlighting the achievements of certain tribal communities, Governor Ravi mentioned his visit to Nagaland, where he observed tribes from the Northeast excelling in education and development while preserving their culture. He emphasized the need to inspire other tribes to follow a similar path of development and become exemplary figures for those around them.

The 15th National Tribal Youth Exchange Programme (TYEP) aims to uplift the aspirations of youth from remote tribal areas across 25 selected districts in eight states. The program offers them the opportunity to visit 25 different destinations in the country and fosters an understanding of cultural ethos, language, and lifestyles of various communities and ethnicities.

Governor Ravi’s speech resonated with the audience, urging them to dream big and achieve their goals, while also working towards the progress of their tribes and communities.

By organizing programs like the National Tribal Youth Exchange Programme, India aims to ensure that no sector is neglected in its relentless march towards progress and development.
