A moving train struck them before they could move away from the tracks, resulting in their untimely demise. The victims have been identified as Amau Sheikh (14), Riaz Sheikh (15), and Samiul Sheikh (17), all residents of the English Sahara area under Suti police station. Two other students, Akash Sheikh and Rohit Sheikh, sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Jangipur sub-division hospital.
The deceased students were attending a local English medium school. Following the incident, their bodies were sent for post-mortem examination. A railway official expressed concern over the dangerous trend of filming videos and reels near railway tracks despite repeated appeals to guardians to deter their children from such activities.
Reel life and real life are totally different. There have been several such accidents on the railway tracks throughout the country while making reels. It is high time that the guardians themselves become aware and make their kids aware as well of the danger of making reels and videos on railway tracks, emphasized an official from the Eastern Railway.
This incident serves as a devastating reminder of the hazards associated with engaging in social media activities near railway tracks. It is crucial for both guardians and children to understand the potential consequences and prioritize safety when choosing filming locations.
