Two Friends Drown on Man’s Birthday Celebration at Dam
Tragedy struck during a birthday celebration in Jaipur as two friends drowned at the Machmari dam in Karauli. The bodies of Rinku Meena (30) and Sanjay (25) were retrieved by the police divers on Sunday evening.
According to a police officer, Rinku’s birthday was on Saturday, and he had decided to celebrate with six of his friends at the dam. After cutting the cake, Rinku and Sanjay decided to take a dip in the dam. However, they soon found themselves in deep waters without the ability to swim properly.
Panicking, they called out to their friends for help, but unfortunately, none of them knew how to swim. Despite the brave attempt of a friend named Shivdas to rescue them, he was unsuccessful. The bodies were only recovered the following day.
Shivdas shared his account of the incident, stating that Rinku and Sanjay had insisted on going into the water despite their lack of swimming skills. Before entering the dam, the two friends had even taken pictures together. Tragically, they misjudged the depth of the dam, leading to their drowning.
