Tragic Drowning: 13-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Sungai Paya Bakau River, Malaysia

A tragic incident unfolded in Johor Baru as a 13-year-old boy lost his life in a drowning accident. The young boy, identified as Muhammad Izwan Shah Nazeri, was swimming in Sungai Paya Bakau, Felda Sungai Mas, Bandar Penawar, when the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to the Bandar Penawar Fire and Rescue Department operation commander, Abd Rahim Abd Rani, the incident took place on Saturday, September 16, at approximately 10:12 am. Eyewitnesses were present when the tragedy unfolded, and they managed to recover the boy’s body before the rescue team arrived at the scene.

Tragically, despite the efforts to save him, the victim was pronounced dead at the location by the medical team. Authorities subsequently handed over the body to the police for further investigation and necessary action.

The police were informed about the incident at 10:25 am by concerned individuals, leading to a prompt response from law enforcement. The case has been classified as a sudden death, and authorities are now looking into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
