Tragic Barrow County Crash Claims the Lives of Three in Multi-Vehicle Collision
In a devastating incident that occurred in Barrow County, Georgia, a three-vehicle wreck has resulted in the loss of three lives. The collision took place at around 5 a.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of GA 316 and GA 11. Authorities from the Georgia State Patrol have provided details of the incident, shedding light on the chain reaction collision.
According to troopers, a 2013 Dodge Dart was traveling south on GA 11, while a Peterbilt tractor truck and a 2016 Nissan Sentra were heading west on GA 316. The tractor truck, without any cargo attachment, was moving in the right lane, while the Nissan occupied the left lane.
Tragedy struck when the Dodge Dart allegedly ran a red light, resulting in a collision with the tractor truck on its left side. The impact caused a chain reaction as the Dodge Dart then collided with the Nissan. Eventually, the Dodge Dart came to a final stop on the shoulder of GA 316, alongside the Nissan. Meanwhile, the tractor truck halted in the left lane of the road.
Authorities promptly arrived at the scene, and the individuals driving the Nissan and tractor truck were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Heartbreakingly, three occupants of the Dodge Dart lost their lives as a result of the collision. The victims have been identified as 37-year-old Jader Artola, 48-year-old Gonzalo Balmaceda-Garcia, and 17-year-old Norman Tremino-Vilchez, all from Winder.
