WALES TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Three individuals have been arrested in St. Clair County, accused of operating a drug house, following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of a significant amount of methamphetamine. The arrest was made after an investigation by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force, targeting the alleged sale of methamphetamine from a residence near Kilgore and Morris roads in Wales Township.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along I-69 on November 29. During the stop, authorities detained Nichole Nazario after finding a substantial quantity of methamphetamine and a throwing knife in her possession. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Kilgore Road, where Nazario had been staying. At the residence, authorities discovered John Fiks and Theresa Vanerp, both of whom were found to have methamphetamine in their possession.

Further investigation revealed that multiple individuals were residing at the house and camping on the property. These individuals were also detained by the authorities. While in custody at the St. Clair County Intervention and Detention Center, Vanerp was found to have smuggled multiple Suboxone strips into the facility.

During their arraignment on Friday, Nazario was charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, resisting and obstructing, carrying a concealed weapon, and maintaining a drug house. Fiks faced charges of possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house, while Vanerp was charged with possession of methamphetamine, bringing contraband into a jail, and maintaining a drug house. All three individuals received $10,000/10% bonds.

The apprehension of these individuals underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related activities in St. Clair County. Authorities remain dedicated to safeguarding the community and ensuring the prosecution of those involved in illegal drug distribution.
