Shiv Sena MP Slams Government as Uddhav Thackeray Receives Ram Temple Consecration Invitation by Speed Post
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has criticized the government for its treatment of the Thackeray family after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray received an invitation for the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. The invitation was sent to Thackeray via speed post and is reported to have reached him on time. However, Raut expressed his displeasure, accusing the government of mistreating the Thackeray family, who have played a significant role in the Ram temple movement.
Responding to the invitation, Raut stated, You worship Lord Ram, and rule like Ravan (demon king). Lord Ram will curse you. All film stars are invited but the Thackeray family that has been closely associated with the movement is treated in such a manner.
Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray is scheduled to be in Nashik for a two-day visit, starting Monday. He plans to visit the Kalaram temple and perform a ‘maha aarti’ on the banks of the Godavari river.
The consecration ceremony of the much-awaited Ram temple will take place on Monday in Ayodhya, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi among those attending the rituals. The temple will be opened to the public on Tuesday. The invitation list comprises more than 7,000 people, with 506 A-listers in attendance. Prominent figures such as Amitabh Bachchan, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Sachin Tendulkar have been invited. However, most opposition leaders have declined the invitation, with the Congress party refusing to participate, labeling it a BJP-RSS event.
The consecration ceremony marks the culmination of the temple’s construction, made possible by a historic Supreme Court judgment in 2019 regarding the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.
In light of these events, tensions have risen between the Shiv Sena and the government, with Raut’s comments reflecting the party’s dissatisfaction with the treatment of the Thackeray family in relation to the Ram temple consecration ceremony.
As the ceremony draws near, the nation’s focus remains on Ayodhya, where the long-awaited dream of a Ram temple will soon become a reality. The Prime Minister’s presence and the attendance of influential figures from various fields have added to the significance of the event. All eyes will be on Ayodhya as the consecration marks the beginning of a new chapter in Indian history.
