Tennessee managed to secure a seven-point lead at 18-11, but the Terriers refused to back down. With 6:11 remaining in the first half, Wofford narrowed the gap to just two points, trailing at 23-21. The Vols, however, responded with a surge in scoring, propelled by three-pointers from Zakai Zeigler and Jordan Gainey. Nevertheless, Wofford demonstrated their resilience once again, reducing the deficit to 34-31 with only 34 seconds left in the half. Just when it seemed the Terriers might gain the upper hand, Jonas Aidoo stepped up for UT, extending the lead with an offensive rebound and bucket right before halftime. With a score of 36-31, the Vols headed into the break with a slight advantage.

As the second half unfolded, the Vols maintained their momentum and swiftly increased their lead to 46-34.
