Telangana’s information technology (IT) and information technology-enabled services (ITeS) industry has achieved a record growth of 31.4%, with IT exports worth ₹2.41 lakh crore in the fiscal year 2022-23. The number of new jobs in the sector reached 1.27 lakh, resulting in a total of 9.05 lakh jobs, representing over 40% of the total IT jobs created in India. Despite pandemic-related challenges like work-from-home and a hybrid mode of work, the industry added ₹57,706 crore in just one year. Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, K T Rama Rao, boasts that over the last nine years, Hyderabad registered IT exports more than four times the numbers for 2013-14, the year before the state was formed. This remarkable achievement highlights the significant growth of India’s IT industry, particularly in Telangana.
