Telangana Government Empowers Tribals through Land Grants and Education
Telangana State is making significant strides in empowering tribals through land grants and education, according to Telangana State Tribal and Women and Child Welfare Minister, Satyavati Rathod. She emphasized that tribal development and welfare are the government’s mission and highlighted the state’s achievements in distributing Podu land pattas, providing employment opportunities, and granting ownership of forest lands to poor farmers.
Minister Satyavati Rathod expressed her sincere commitment to removing the backwardness faced by tribals and providing them with essential facilities by allocating funds. She praised the government for recognizing each Tanda as a Gram Panchayat, fulfilling the tribal people’s long-standing dream of self-governance.
The minister acknowledged Chief Minister KCR’s role in empowering tribals by granting them ownership of forest lands. Notably, 4.06 lakh acres have been allocated to 1.51 lakh poor farmers, significantly supporting their livelihoods.
Education also plays a vital role in empowering tribals, and the Telangana government is ensuring quality education through the establishment of gurukula schools. Minister Rathod mentioned the special funds allocated for the Medaram fair, a tribal festival, which is being organized in a grand manner.
The Telangana government’s efforts have led to an increase in tribal reservation by 10 percent, thereby expanding employment opportunities for tribals. These initiatives are transforming tribals into farmers and improving their overall socio-economic conditions.
