The Telangana state government has launched two new bureaus aimed at combatting narcotics and cybercrimes. These bureaus, the Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) and Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau, were launched by Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Prohibition & Excise Minister Srinivas Goud, and senior police officials at the Telangana State Police Integrated Command Control Centre (TSPICCC). The TSNAB, which aims to be a drug-free state, will function from the 12th and 13th floors of the TSPICCC’s B-Tower while the Cyber Security Bureau will operate from the second and third floors. Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has been appointed as the director of the TSNAB, which will have a head office, four narcotics police stations, and seven regional narcotics control cells with 26 Narcotics Enforcement Wings in commissionerates and districts. The bureaus were launched just before the state’s 10th anniversary.
