Teen Runaways: A Disturbing Path to Human Trafficking

In an effort to shed light on this distressing connection, a team of 11 individuals, including myself, will embark on a 320-mile bicycle trek from Maine to Boston. As the CEO of a company that provides investigative tools to law enforcement agencies, I am all too familiar with the harsh realities of our society. However, nothing has affected me as deeply as the troubling world of child sex trafficking and exploitation, particularly the cases where runaway teens find themselves in the clutches of criminals.
Throughout history, troubled teenagers have run away from home as a way of coping with their difficulties. In the past, these runaways would often return home shortly after. Unfortunately, in 21st century America, many teenage runaways are unwittingly falling into the hands of human and sex traffickers.

These vulnerable young individuals, seeking solace from traumatic experiences, are instead finding themselves trapped in the confines of criminal networks.
