The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Davendra Kumar, the Managing Director of Technip Energies India, and Prof. Manu Santhanam, the Dean of Industrial Consultancy & Sponsored Research, at a ceremony held in Chennai. The Chief Technology Officer of Technip Energies, Wei Cai, was also present during the signing.
Through this strategic partnership, Technip Energies seeks to accelerate the development of new sustainable technologies to meet the growing demands of the energy market, driven by sustainability goals. With a vision of achieving Net-Zero, Technip Energies believes that collaboration and innovation are crucial in addressing the urgent global challenges in the energy sector.
The Energy Consortium, an initiative established by IIT Madras, aims to facilitate cooperation between industry, academia, and the government to accelerate the development of technologies essential for a sustainable and low-carbon future. By joining forces with Technip Energies, the consortium gains momentum in their efforts to tackle key energy challenges prevalent in India.
Ramasubramanian Arunachalam, AVP – Process at Technip Energies, has been appointed to the Industry Advisory Board of The Energy Consortium. This collaborative board, comprising representatives from all founding members, will provide guidance and contribute to ongoing advancements in research, technology, and innovation.
The Energy Consortium’s areas of focus include resilient energy systems, energy storage, carbon capture and utilization, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, and economics. As the ninth industry founding member, Technip Energies joins leading names such as Shell, Baker Hughes, FLSmidth, Aditya Birla, Cummins, Chevron Tech Ventures, Infosys, and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) in their shared commitment to supporting India’s efforts to combat climate change.
