TE Connectivity, a global leader in connectors and sensors, has donated medical equipment to Bangalore Medical Services Trust (BMST) to enhance its blood bank infrastructure. The equipment includes two blood bank refrigerators, a consumables refrigerator, and two HLA lab centrifuges.

The blood bank refrigerator is specially designed to preserve blood products at optimal temperatures, ensuring the safe storage of life-saving blood components such as red blood cells, platelets, and plasma. The consumables refrigerator will store temperature-sensitive consumables and reagents essential for various laboratory tests and procedures. The HLA lab centrifuges will enhance the laboratory’s capacity to perform essential tests related to tissue matching for organ transplantation.
Dr. Latha Jagannathan, Medical Director and Managing Trustee of BMST, expressed appreciation for TE Connectivity‘s support and interest in understanding the work they do. The donated equipment will significantly contribute to maintaining the integrity and availability of blood products and improve their ability to provide blood banking and transplant testing services, ultimately impacting over 45,000 patients year-on-year.
