TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu Confident of One Lakh Vote Majority in Kuppam

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his confidence in securing a historic win with over one lakh votes majority in the Kuppam constituency during the 2024 elections. Speaking at a public gathering in Gudupalle mandal headquarters, Mr. Naidu dismissed any challenges to his triumph and asserted that it would be an important victory.

With Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s term soon coming to an end, Mr. Naidu took the opportunity to criticize the ruling YSRCP. He accused the party of selectively reassigning weak Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), while shielding those involved in illegal mining and corruption. Mr. Naidu further claimed that the YSRCP government had betrayed government employees, farmers, and volunteers, resorting to false cases against them when they fought for their rights.

Highlighting the alleged shortcomings of the YSRCP’s Navaratnalu initiative, Mr. Naidu argued that the government provided with one hand but took away more with the other. He pointed to the rising prices of vegetables, essential commodities, LPG cylinders, petrol, and diesel, along with the increases in APSRTC bus charges and power tariffs, as factors affecting the people’s welfare.

In terms of agricultural policies, Mr. Naidu emphasized the TDP’s commitment to prioritizing farmers’ interests. He promised to make agriculture profitable and promote micro-irrigation, criticizing the YSRCP’s plan to install meters on farm pump-sets.

Elaborating on the TDP’s Super Six formula, Mr. Naidu outlined proposals for job creation, financial assistance to unemployed youth, women, and weaker sections of society, as well as revitalizing the dairy sector.

Regarding Kuppam, Mr. Naidu referred to the constituency as the TDP’s bastion and expressed his concern over the government’s alleged encouragement of rowdy elements and illegal mining, which he claimed had disrupted peace and tranquility in the region. Responding to a college student’s complaint about the lack of buses, Mr. Naidu accused District In-Charge Minister P. Ramachandra Reddy of diverting buses to his own constituency.

Mr. Naidu assured the crowd that all pending issues, including the completion of the Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi branch canal to Kuppam, would be prioritized and resolved once his party regained power.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu received a warm welcome from TDP cadres and supporters at the A.P.-Karnataka border as he continues his political engagements in the Chittoor district.

With his sights set on victory in the upcoming elections, Mr. Naidu’s confidence appears resolute as he promises a significant win in Kuppam. Whether his words translate into reality remains to be seen, but his commitment to addressing the concerns of the people and embracing his party’s stronghold suggests a fierce battle ahead.
