The State Tobacco Control Cell (STCC) of Meghalaya has been awarded the prestigious World Health Organization's Director-South-East General's Asia Region Award for its outstanding work in tobacco control initiatives. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma congratulated the dedicated team for their hard work, highlighting the importance of persistence in promoting public health and minimizing the adverse effects of tobacco use. With over 3500 villages and 7,975 schools, this successful campaign has earned overarching support from more than four lakh students.
