Ujjain’s Mahakal Temple’s Main Sanctuary Closed for Two Months
The Mahakal Temple in Ujjain will close its Garbh Griha to visitors from July 4 to September 11 to control crowds during Shravan. Only residents of Ujjain can visit from July 11, and the price of laddu prasad will increase. The temple will introduce a system of mobile bhasma aarti darshan and limit weekly processions to traditional bhajan mandlis. Public conveniences will be built, and UDA will digitize MTMC records. The UDA will also construct a maternity room, and a 10-bed hospital to provide medical services.
