Haryana Launches Initiative to Protect and Conserve Trees over 75 Years Old

Haryana govt has launched 'Haryana Pran Vaayu Devta Pension Scheme' to protect and conserve trees aged over 75 years by awarding an annual pension of Rs 2,500 for 5 years. Forest Minister Kanwar Pal stated that groves of trees will be considered as one, with a maximum of 4,000 trees covered under the scheme. This initiative aims to increase green cover, mitigate climate change and develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
