The Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM) has announced the winners of the first AI for Social Good Awards, recognizing and empowering innovative and impactful AI applications from India’s startup ecosystem for the social sector. Three startups were declared winners in different categories in the awards ceremony held in T-Hub. Sparcolife Digital Health Technologies, which has developed an AI-enabled solution for women’s well-being and fertility care, won in the health and sanitation category. Learn & Empower, a startup working to improve the learnability of deaf children through fun-based interactive games, won the skill development and livelihoods category. Fluid Robotics, which uses computer vision and machine learning to monitor wastewater, won under the sustainable environment category. According to T-AIM, the award ceremony attracted 128 nominations from AI startups. The three winning startups each received seed funding worth βΉ7 lakh to further scale their innovation for the social sector. The awards were supported by the State government, Capgemini, and Nasscom. The event also witnessed the launch of ‘From Code To Compassion’, a compendium of 15 successful stories of innovation in the social sector that have used AI. IT and Industries Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Special adviser to CM Somesh Kumar, Director-Emerging Technologies Wing Rama Devi Lanka, CEO of Nasscom Foundation Nidhi Bhasin and Lead-T-AIM Praveen Mokkapati participated in the event.
