Swiss Network in India is collaborating with various stakeholders to launch the Indo-Swiss Innovation Platform, aimed at fostering collaboration between the two countries. Consul General of Switzerland in India, Jonas Brunschwig, shared this news during a meeting with Karnataka’s Industries Minister, MB Patil. The platform is expected to facilitate strategic and systemic growth of collaboration in key areas such as health, sustainability, and digital transformation.
The Indo-Swiss Innovation Platform is an extension of the Switzerland-India Science and Innovation Alliance, which was formalized in September 2019 during former President Ramnath Kovind’s visit to Switzerland. The initiative is being spearheaded by Swissnex in India and will involve Swissnex in India, the Swiss Business Hub India, and the Swiss Embassy in India. Through this platform, they aim to bolster innovation collaboration between Switzerland and India in areas that are relevant to the future development of both countries.
The Consul General emphasized the platform’s thematic focus on health, sustainability, and digital transformation. The initiative aims to provide a new way of boosting innovation collaboration by bringing together relevant stakeholders from Switzerland and India. The objective is to facilitate strategic partnerships and cooperation in key sectors for the long-term growth and development of both countries.
Gunjan Krishna, the Commissioner of Industries, was also present at the meeting, highlighting the importance of such collaborations for the industrial and economic progress of Karnataka.
The launch of the Indo-Swiss Innovation Platform is expected to accelerate innovation, knowledge exchange, and cooperation between Switzerland and India. Through joint efforts and initiatives, the two countries aim to address pressing global challenges and promote sustainable development.
