Supreme Court Bans Barium in Firecrackers Nationwide, Minimizing Air and Noise Pollution for Diwali

The Supreme Court had already imposed restrictions on firecrackers in 2018, banning the production and sale of all types of crackers except green crackers and those with reduced emissions. The court had also prohibited the use of barium salts in fireworks and enforced limits on sound levels. These restrictions were reiterated in an order issued in October 2021.
