Senior leader and Member of Parliament, Sunil Tatkare, has been appointed as the new national treasurer of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) by President Sharad Pawar. This decision was made during celebrations commemorating the 24th foundation day of the NCP on June 10th.
In addition to Tatkare’s appointment, Pawar also named Praful Patel and Supriya Sule as working presidents of the party. Tatkare, who represents the Raigad Lok Sabha constituency, has reportedly received the official letter of his appointment on June 12th.
Before climbing up the ranks to his current position as national treasurer, Tatkare served as national general secretary and state president of the party, handling his responsibilities with great success.
This development signals a strong leadership structure for the NCP, one that reflects Pawar’s strategy of streamlining party operations in preparation for upcoming elections.
Tatkare’s appointment has come at a time when the NCP is preparing for the Bihar Assembly elections and the Mumbai civic polls. With Tatkare now serving as national treasurer, the party can focus on campaigning without worrying about internal financial management.
With these key appointments in place, the NCP is now ready to mount a strong challenge in upcoming elections and further solidify its position as a major political player in India.
