The President of the Kerala Congress, K. Sudhakaran, criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, warning him that he will face charges. Following an alleged cheating case, the Crime Branch wing of the Kerala Police registered a case against Sudhakaran. Sudhakaran stated that he has no relation with the complainant and received a notice to appear before the probe team on Wednesday. However, he decided not to appear and submit a letter instead, requesting time to appear before them.
Sudhakaran criticized Vijayan and accused him of hiding from grave allegations with his power. He stated that they will catch up with Vijayan’s cases in the not too distant future and all allegations presently against him will definitely come out.
The Leader of Opposition, V.D. Satheesan, is being investigated by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly collecting money from abroad to build homes for the poor in his constituency affected by the 2018 floods. This probe is said to be attributed to the Congress leader’s open criticism of Chief Minister Vijayan after several cases emerged against him.
On Monday, the Crime Branch police registered a case against Sudhakaran in an alleged cheating case. The Crime Branch named Sudhakaran as the second accused and asked him to appear before the probe team on Wednesday. In response, Sudhakaran stated that the accusations against him were baseless and that he has never met the complainant.
Satheesan stated that everyone knew what was happening in Vijayan’s office. Vijayan is accused of trying to run them down by registering false cases against them and covering up blatant violations to avoid being caught. Satheesan also stated that they would handle it legally and politically and would not be cowed down.
